Veterinary Diagnostics

Finding out what's going on as quickly as possible

We offer a range of diagnostic tests and imaging to give us the well-rounded picture needed for an accurate diagnosis.

Diagnostics is a crucial aspect of veterinary medicine. It involves the use of various tests, procedures and imaging (such as Xrays or ultrasound) to identify and diagnose illnesses and diseases in animals. With accurate and timely diagnostics, our vets can be well informed to make the best recommendations for your pet’s health.

Laboratory testing

We can provide blood, urine, faecal and tissue testing as part of our diagnostic services. Our in-house laboratory at Mildenhall can provide blood and urine test results within the hour, and we can also provide microscopic examination of samples.

For other diagnostic laboratory tests, we use a specialist laboratory with an express courier service to ensure that samples are analysed and expert results returned as quickly as possible.

Gathering information from laboratory tests helps our vets to work out what is going on as soon as possible so that they can talk to you about the best options for the care of your pet.

Diagnostic imaging

Our digital X-ray (radiography) and ultrasound scanning facilities allow us to gain high quality images of many different body systems to aid diagnosis.

X-rays are commonly used for diagnosis in lameness issues, dentistry, heart and lung issues and checking for foreign bodies that might have been chewed or swallowed. Ultrasound scanning is used to examine abdominal organs and to scan for pregnancy in pets.

We may use an ECG machine and a blood pressure monitor to check the health of the circulatory system. This can be extremely important as a routine test for older pets.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our diagnostic services to help provide you with reassurance that the best decisions are being made for your pet.
